Technician Dashboard Overview

This document provides a detailed walkthrough of utilizing the CDK Service Technician Dashboard. It includes navigation of the dashboard, managing work orders, conducting inspections, and finalizing repair orders. The aim is to streamline the technician's workflow from receiving a work order to submitting it for review.

Step 1

This section introduces the Technician Dashboard, a central hub for technicians in the CDK service platform.

Step 2

This part of the course covers navigating the dashboard using various tools, such as filters and sorting options. It also delves into the technician's workflow, starting from when they receive a work order, conducting a multi-point inspection in the work in-process field, completing the inspection, addressing failed items, and completing any necessary Additional Service Requests (ASRs) for submission to the advisors.

Step 3

Next, you will learn how to finalize inspections and submit them to the parts department for estimates on required parts. After the ASRs are approved by the customer, the technician retrieves the work order, completes the task in Drive, records their time in the DMS, and finalizes tasks within CDK Service, including documenting the complaint, cause, and correction details.

Step 4

This step ensures that the repair order details are interfaced back to the work order, marking the work as complete. This allows the advisors to finalize their part of the workflow within CDK Service, ensuring the work is reviewed and ready for the next steps.

Step 5

During this final step, the advisors review all the completed steps to confirm that the technicians have finished everything. Upon verification, the technician is then able to proceed with the next work order. The goal is to create an efficient system that facilitates continuous workflow for technicians.
