Welcome to AI Studio Data Storage—a central hub for securely creating, managing, and organising files that power your AI projects. This guide walks you through setting up new storage, configuring access controls, structuring files and folders, and seamlessly integrating storage into workspaces and application deployments. Whether you’re managing private resources or collaborating across teams, AI Studio provides flexible and efficient tools to keep your project data organised, accessible, and ready for action.
To begin, access the data storage section in AI Studio.
Navigate to the storage section to create new file storage. This allows you to manage your resources efficiently. Click "Create New Storage" to set up a dedicated space for your files.
Ensure you enter a descriptive storage name to keep everything well-organised.
Determine the appropriate storage access settings. Set it to "Private" for confidential projects, or "Shared" for collaborative efforts.
You can also specify which groups should have access to this storage for targeted collaboration.

You have the option to share the storage with multiple groups to enhance collaboration.
To modify group access, simply click the cross icon next to the group name to remove it.
Next, choose your preferred storage size from the dropdown to fit your needs.

Once you've finalised the accessibility settings, click "Save" to create your new storage.
Access your newly created storage to organise files.
Click on "Add a New File" to upload files.
After uploading, click on the three dots next to a file to explore options such as downloading or deleting for full control.
You can create folders within the data storage. Click on the "Add New Folder" button.
Provide a folder name to keep your project files structured.

Finalise your setup by clicking "Create Folder".

The folder is now successfully created.
Use the "Go Back" button to return to the main storage page.
Step 17By clicking the three dots, you can access more storage options, including edit and delete.

Edit the storage details to update its name or modify access settings as needed. Update the storage name for easier identification and management.

Save your changes by clicking "Update Storage."
The updated storage name will be displayed here.
Let's explore how to use the storage we've just created. Navigate to the workspace section.
Click "Create Workspace" to set up a new workspace environment.
Provide a name to the workspace.

Within the workspace feature, you can add storage. Select the appropriate storage for your workspace to ensure your application has access to the necessary files. Choose the data storage to attach from the dropdown menu.
Once you've attached a storage to your workspace image, the storage will appear as a folder when you open the workspace. In the Jupyter Lab workspace, the storage is accessible as a folder, allowing you to manage files easily.
Files in the storage will also be accessible for the notebooks created in this workspace.

Upload Gradio application files to the storage.
You can edit or expand the code directly within the code editor. Also, you can run the applications using the uploaded application files.

Verify the file changes we made through workspace by navigating to the storage section.

Now, Let's explore the use of data storage in application deployment. Click "Create Project" to start a new deployment.
Begin by naming your project for straightforward identification.
Choose "Application Deployment" for streamlined app hosting with frameworks like Streamlit, Gradio, Dash, etc.
Click "Create & Continue" to quickly set up your deployment workflow.
In the second step, you have the option to select data storage as a file source, crucial for deploying applications with necessary files.

Select your data storage from the dropdown menu.
Choose desired option

If you uploaded the app.py and requirements.txt files in the storage, the application deployment will execute the app.py file. Click "Try This App" to see the Gradio application running in a new tab.
To delete a storage, click the three dots on the storage card. This will present several options. Click "Delete." Confirm the deletion by clicking "Delete" again. The storage will be removed.
Congratulations! You have completed the walkthrough of AI Studio Data Storage.
