This document details how to manage adding or removing products in a ramping report using Zoho CPQX. It provides sales representatives the flexibility to modify customer subscriptions in response to evolving needs without the need to create a new quote entirely.
To add or remove products in a ramping report, Zoho CPQX allows adjustments within existing rampings. This flexibility aids in evolving customer subscriptions without needing a new quote.

Managing additions and removals during the ramp period enables the sales team to handle expansions, upgrades, or product changes over multi-year contracts. Greenfield Enterprise, with an active three-year ramp subscription, now wishes to add the cloud backup add-on starting in year two to support their data backup needs.

Additionally, they wish to remove the analytics add-on they no longer require from the end of year one onwards. Let's proceed to edit this quote.

Click on the dropdown and select the "Edit Quote New" button.

Here, verify the ramp setting in the subscription section. As you scroll down to the product section, observe the three ramp intervals. The customer desires to remove the cloud storage analytics add-on at the end of year one.

Navigate to the second ramp interval beginning November 1st, 2026. The analytics add-on was added in November 2026. Let's perform a future-dated removal.

Click on the item, keeping the effective date as November 1st, 2026. Click confirm to remove this product. The product is now removed from the second interval.

Verify that the product is automatically removed in the third interval as well. Removing a product from one segment ensures its removal from future segments.

This ensures that the customer will no longer be billed for the product beyond the specified ramp, in this case, ramp one, until October 31st, 2026.

Now, let’s explore adding a product. Greenfield Enterprise intends to add the backup product at the end of year two, aligning with their ramp interval two.

At the end of year two, which marks the beginning of year three or ramp interval three, they wish to add this product. Proceed with the third interval. Click on "Browse Product Catalog" and select the desired product.

After selecting the product, click on "Add Selection" to see the product added to the third ramp. Now, return to the second ramp to confirm that the backup product is not added there or in ramp one.

The customer will start utilizing the backup add-on from November 1st, 2027.

Adding this product in year three ensures the cloud backup add-on appears only for the selected period. If there are future ramp periods, the add-on will automatically apply. The quote is now ready to be sent to Zuora. Click the appropriate option and submit.

Successfully sent to Zuora. Click OK. Navigate to Zuora Billing, and access Subscriptions.

Quickly review the subscription details.

Observe subscription 83, which is an active subscription in version 1, with a start date of 11-01-2025 and an end date of 11-01-2028.

It is a three-year subscription. Scrolling down reveals the ramp intervals: ramp 1, ramp 2, and ramp 3, along with the MRR, TCB, and DCV of the contract.

Further down in the subscription change history section, click on the arrow next to the order number to view a detailed breakdown of order actions and their effective dates.

On November 1st, 2025, the cloud storage analytics add-on and the license plan were activated. The cloud storage backup add-on was added on November 11, 2027.

On November 1, 2027, the removal of the analytics add-on and updates in the price for the license plans are visible.

Scrolling further down, view the charge details. The invoice has been processed as "invoice separately" was selected. Keynotes for ramp changes: timings of additions or removals can be adjusted for any ramp period beyond the current billing period, having a cascading effect.

Removing a product from a future ramp period will also remove it from all subsequent ramp segments. Order actions such as adding or removing products in Zuora Billing are created once the quote is sent to Zuora.

Always verify the ramp period start and end dates before making product changes to ensure they take effect within the correct timeframe. In this demo, you learned how to efficiently manage product adjustments within a ramp deal in Zoho CPQX, updating Greenfield Enterprise's three-year ramp deal by adding a cloud backup add-on.

The add-on was added at the beginning of the third year, while the analytics add-on was removed after the first year. This capability allows sales representatives to swiftly address changing customer needs while maintaining organized subscription details within a single ramp quote.
