Streamlining Configuration Settings in Quote Studio

This document provides a comprehensive overview of the process to configure various settings in Quote Studio. By following these steps, users will effectively manage options related to preview metrics, guided selling flows, subscription quote configurations, flexible billing, and other crucial settings to enhance Quote Studio functionality.

Step 1

Enable the "Preview on Demand" option. This setting introduces a pre-preview metrics button, allowing you to review metrics after making all changes, thus reducing API calls.

Step 2

The preview order API is triggered only when this button is clicked. Save these settings and return to the quote page to locate the preview metrics button.

Step 3

Navigate back to the configuration page and enable the option to hide the product selector model for new subscription quote types. This option allows you to hide the browse product button or control the search product field in new subscription quotes.

Step 4

This setting is intended for legacy guided selling alongside CPQX. Save the changes.

Step 5

Verify the changes on a legacy quote or a new quote. With the setting enabled, a guided selling flow button will appear on the new Quote Studio page, allowing you to switch back to the legacy guided selling flow when clicked.

Step 6

Review another setting similar to the new subscription quote. Adjust the setting related to hiding the product selector model for amend or renew subscription quote types, activating it if necessary.

Step 7

Enable the "Flexible Billing" option in Quote Studio. This setting allows for specifying bill-to contacts and payment terms at the subscription level.

Step 8

Ensure that this setting functions only if the connected Zuora tenant has flexible billing enabled. This will be covered in future demos. Enable this setting for now.

Screenshot

Step 9

Activate the setting to display contact address fields in the subscription level contact pick list. This enables contact addresses to appear as pick list values within the subscription bill-to contact field.

Step 10

Now that flexible billing is enabled in both Zuora billing and Quote Studio, save the changes and observe their effect on the new Quote Studio page. A new field set related to subscription billing attributes will be present on the quote page.

Step 11

The subscription-level contact pick list is available. Return to the configuration to address the next setting: display bill-to contact address fields in the invoice owner account pick list.

Screenshot

Step 12

When enabled, invoice owner address pick list values will incorporate bill-to contract addresses alongside account names. Enable this option now.

Step 13

Enable the "Subscription Owner Transfer" setting, which allows for transferring subscriptions between customer accounts during quote amendments. Enable this feature.

Screenshot

Step 14

Upon enabling this, another option appears: display bill-to contact address fields in the subscription owner account pick list. Activate this to include subscription owner pick list values alongside account names.

Screenshot

Step 15

Enable the "Nested Discount Rows" setting. This introduces nested discounted rows within a subscription, providing greater pricing flexibility.

Screenshot

Step 16

Consider the option to "Summarize Invoice Items." Enable this to store preview invoice summaries in the invoice item summary_c object. Note that it does not work with order line items and is disabled by default after version 10.28.

Screenshot

Step 17

Consider enabling "Charge Segment Metrics." You can set this to active if necessary. The next option is to define behavior for updates before future dated updates. This controls the procedure when a sales representative amends a subscription with a future dated change, such as a scheduled price increase.

Screenshot

Step 18

This setting determines whether the representative's new change is temporary or permanent. The setting offers two options: require manual designation of "make this update before the future update," which is the default setting.

Screenshot

Step 19

When this option is selected, it grants the sales representative a choice. If a new product is added, a pop-up asks if the change should apply only to the current subscription period or all future periods. This flexibility allows for temporary promotional add-ons or permanent changes on a case-by-case basis.

Screenshot

Step 20

The next option is to automatically set the specific update date for changes occurring before the last segment of the original rate plan. This option enforces a standard rule where no pop-up appears when a new product is added.

Screenshot

Step 21

The system automatically applies the change for the entire remaining life of the subscription. This approach simplifies the process but removes the representative's ability to make temporary changes. Leave this setting as the default option and proceed.
