Update Functions in Retell AI.

This document explains how to update existing functions in Retell AI so your agent can perform tasks like booking appointments, checking order status, sending text messages, or transferring calls with the latest logic and parameters.

Step 1: Open the Retell Dashboard and Select Your Agent

Go to your Retell AI dashboard, locate the agent you want to modify, and select it to open its configuration.

Step 2: Navigate to the Functions Tab

Within the selected agent’s settings, click on the Functions tab to view all functions currently configured for that agent.

Step 3: Choose the Function to Update

From the list of existing functions, click on the specific function you want to modify to open its details.

Step 4: Edit Function Details and Parameters

Update the function as needed:

• Change the function name to reflect its purpose more clearly.
• Edit the description and other details that guide the agent on when and how to use this function.
• Adjust the parameters to add new fields or change what information is passed through when the function is triggered.

Step 5: Save and Publish Your Changes

After making your updates, click Update to save the changes to the function.
