This document explains how to configure attribute formatting for numeric fields such as area, acres, and other measurements, so that map pop-ups display values with clear units and consistent decimal places.
Start by viewing a parcel on your map to understand how the attributes currently appear.

Click on a parcel feature to open its attribute pop-up. You will see three attributes: a PIN, acres, and an area measurement.

The PIN attribute is visible.

The acres attribute is visible.

The area measurement attribute is visible.

Without clear labels or formatting, these numeric values can be hard to interpret, so the goal is to add formatting that clearly indicates what each number represents.

You want to include formatting that tells the user exactly what each value is (e.g., acres, square feet).

Note that the PIN field is a text field and will not be formatted as a numeric value; it is referenced here only for context.

To configure attribute formatting, open the layer settings for the dataset that contains these parcel attributes.
Go to your Layers panel.

Edit the layer that contains the parcel data.

Scroll down to locate the Formatting section for the layer.

You will see a list of all fields in the dataset. Initially, they will all be on default formatting, meaning no specific numeric or unit formatting is applied.
Locate the field that stores the acreage values and configure it to display in acres with the desired decimal precision.
Select the “acres” field from the list.

Edit the formatting for this acres field.

By default, the formatting is set to auto-detect, which simply displays the value exactly as it appears in the data table. To make this follow the acreage measurement format, change the formatting settings.

Configure the field to use an “Acres” measurement type.

From the measurement/unit options, select “Acres.”

Choose how many decimal places you want to display for the acres value (for example, two decimal places).

Save the formatting changes for the acres field.
Next, configure the area field so that it displays in square feet, either rounded or with decimals, according to your preference.
Select the area field from the formatting list.

Confirm that this area value is stored in square feet.

From the measurement/unit options, select “Square feet.”

Choose whether to display decimal places or round the value to a whole number. In this example, the value is rounded to a whole number.

Confirm your choice (e.g., rounding) and save the formatting for the area field.
I’m going to round this one, then press Save.

After saving your changes, close the settings and verify that the formatted values appear correctly on the map.
Close the settings panel.

Reopen the parcel pop-up by clicking on the parcel again.

You should now see that both the acres and area fields are formatted properly as numeric values with the correct units.

The acres field displays in acres.

The area field displays in square feet.

For example, you might see values such as 19.50 acres and 851,376 square feet.
19.50

acres and 851,376 square feet.
You can click on other parcels to confirm that the same formatting is consistently applied to all numeric values.

You will see that the configured formatting is applied across the dataset.
