This document provides a step-by-step overview of using the Tailorly extension to efficiently tailor your resume and cover letter for job applications. By following these instructions, you can customize your application materials to match the specific requirements of any job posting, ensuring a better alignment with potential employers' expectations.
Once you have signed into the Tailorly extension and completed your profile, navigate to any job listing page where you wish to apply.

On the job page, you will see three buttons. The first button tailors your resume to the job description.

Click the first button to automatically extract the job description from the page. Next, select "Tailor My Resume" to initiate the process.

The extension customizes your resume to match the specific job position, creates a personalized cover letter, and generates a LinkedIn message or InMail. Your tailored application materials will be displayed on the screen.

If you wish to add more experiences or make changes to your resume, click on the "Clear + New" button to refill the form with additional details such as experiences, projects, or education.

Your tailored resume, LinkedIn message including InMail, and cover letter are available for download with a single click.

By clicking the "Download PDF" button, you can download your tailored materials. If you find a bullet point or summary that needs adjustments, use the "AI Edit" feature to refine it by specifying preferences like making it shorter and more technical.

Once you press "Generate with AI," the system will revise the selected content following your instructions. Review and accept the changes.

You can download the revised documents in one click. Additional customization options such as font style, font size, and margin adjustments are available. The second button on the page offers another important feature.

Clicking the second button allows the system to analyze the job description against your resume. It provides feedback on strengths, areas for improvement, and missing keywords. For example, a match score of 35% is shown along with key strengths and suggested improvements.

The system highlights missing keywords that could enhance your application. If further editing is needed, use the "Clear + New" option.

Click "Confirm," then "Create My Resume," and add as many work experiences, education entries, or projects as needed by selecting the corresponding buttons.
