Changing the Fiscal Year Settings in Salesforce

This document explains how to update the fiscal year configuration in Salesforce, including selecting the appropriate fiscal year for your country and choosing whether the fiscal year is based on the starting or ending month.

Step 1: Open Salesforce Settings

Navigate to the Salesforce Settings (Setup) area from your Salesforce interface.

Step 2: Access the Fiscal Year Configuration

In the Settings (Setup) menu, locate and click on Fiscal Year to open the fiscal year configuration page.

Step 3: Select the Appropriate Fiscal Year

On the Fiscal Year page, change the fiscal year to match the convention used in your country. For example, in the US the fiscal year can start in January.

Step 4: Choose the Month Basis for the Fiscal Year

Specify whether the fiscal year is defined by the starting month or the ending month of the fiscal period. In this example, select the starting of the month option.

Step 5: Acknowledge and Confirm the Change

After selecting your fiscal year options, click on Acknowledge (or the equivalent confirmation button) to save and apply your new fiscal year settings in Salesforce.
