Discover how Glean Agents can revolutionize your data analysis process with ease. This step-by-step process demonstrates the capabilities of Glean in handling structured data, such as Excel files, to provide insightful analysis and results.
Analyzing structured data like Excels can be challenging with large language models. Glean offers a powerful feature to simplify this process. In this example, we have an Excel file with extensive financial data, including segments, countries, products, units sold, and various financial metrics such as profit and cost of goods sold. A Glean Agent has been developed to accept an Excel upload and perform tasks like analyzing countries by sales profit margin, sorting by profit, and highlighting top and bottom performers.

Upon processing the Excel file, the response includes a list of top countries ranked by sales profit, complete with calculated margins, highlights of the top and bottom performers, a summary image, and a downloadable link to the full analysis.

To achieve this within Glean, utilize the powerful "analyze data" action available in Glean Agents.

The "analyze data" action can be incorporated as a standalone action.

Alternatively, it can be included as a supplementary action within the plan and execute step.

In this instance, an agent has been configured to accept any message. A conversation starter prompts users to upload their Excel file for analysis.

The plan and execute prompt is straightforward yet effective.

If a user fails to upload an Excel file, the system prompts them to do so. It then utilizes the user's query, triggers "analyze data" for thorough analysis, runs necessary formulas, and eventually provides a downloadable Excel link, as previously demonstrated.

This process is simple and direct, enabling efficient analysis of large datasets and structured data within Excel files.
