Domo offers a powerful platform to harness the potential of your data during a free trial. This process involves importing various data types, specifically Excel spreadsheets, to swiftly create visualizations, manipulate data, and craft personalized dashboards in a matter of minutes.
Welcome to Domo. In this session, you will learn how to derive value from your data during your free trial. Domo offers a versatile platform for data management and analysis.

You can import diverse data types, whether from your cloud data warehouse, directly via a connector, or by uploading an Excel spreadsheet. Domo supports numerous data sources, and today, you will learn how to import an Excel spreadsheet and start creating visualizations in under 10 minutes.

Let’s begin by accessing the initial screen of your free trial. Navigate to 'Upload a File', select your Excel file, and confirm. Your file might contain multiple sheets, and for this demonstration, focus on the customer data.

Import the required sheets by selecting 'AR Invoices' and 'Customer Data'. Start by naming the imported data as 'Customers'.

Proceed by selecting 'Save and Run' to initiate the import process.

After the import is complete, proceed to import the next spreadsheet, 'AR Invoices'.

You will notice the import status transitioning through various stages. You will then be prompted to create a visualization. However, prioritize importing all spreadsheets first.

Repeat the import process for 'AR Invoices'. Ensure that Domo captures the column headers correctly from the beginning of your spreadsheet.

Verify the position of the column headers. If they start at cell A1, no adjustments are necessary.

Import the data and rename it to 'AR Invoices' for clarity. Save and proceed with the import.

Exit the import interface. You can locate the imported data under 'Features', which consolidates all available tools.

Within 'Datasets', navigate to 'Customers' to view the raw data. This allows you to assess and potentially manipulate the data as required.

Begin building visualizations or choose to integrate data similar to a VLOOKUP by joining datasets.

Access 'Transform Data' and utilize the ETL tool to merge datasets. Select 'Input Dataset' to proceed.

Select both 'Customers' and 'AR Invoices' datasets to join. Use the toolbar for data manipulation, and select 'Join Data'. Opt for a Left Outer join.

Define the join condition using the 'Customer ID', which is present in both datasets. Resolve any name conflicts using 'Auto Fix Right'.

Upon auto-fixing, finalize the output settings.

Name the output 'Customers plus AR Invoices' and replicate this name in the data flow for consistent practice.

Save the data flow, enabling you to preview the results once the data is successfully joined.

Select 'Save and Run', then exit. Your data has been successfully integrated, allowing you to proceed with visualizations.

Explore visualization options. Consider various methods for displaying your data effectively.

Opt for the simplest method by returning to your datasets and using Domo AI to automate visualization creation.

Create an app, ensuring you have the necessary permissions to query and view the data. Invite others to your trial instance, noting any restrictions.

Save the generated visualizations after the data analysis is complete.

Experience the narrative format of visualization, resulting in a comprehensive app that you can modify as desired.

Allow time for app layout generation, culminating in a fully constructed application showcasing your data.

Customize the app’s appearance to align with your company’s theme or personal preference.

Adjust data visualization themes effortlessly, ensuring consistency across your app.

Reorder data presentations smoothly to enhance accessibility and navigation. Save the configurations for future reference.

Access the app via 'Features' > 'Apps'. Utilize the 'Edit' option for modifications, exploring various visualization formats.

Switch visualization types, for example, from a pie chart to a donut chart, utilizing the range of available tools and data insights.

I trust this overview has been beneficial. Thank you for engaging with this introduction to Domo.
