Creating a Concert Receipt with a Spreadsheet and Concert Receipt
This process walks you through generating a Concert Receipt using a spreadsheet template. You’ll download and edit a CSV file with your concert data, upload it to Concert Receipt, then customize and download shareable images of your year in live music.
Step 1: Download and Open the Spreadsheet Template
Use a spreadsheet to generate your concert receipt.
- Click “Use a spreadsheet” in Concert Receipt.
- Click to download the template.
- Open the downloaded template in your preferred CSV editor, such as Google Sheets or Excel.
- In the template, you may see some example data prefilled. Delete all example rows so you can enter your own concerts.

Step 2: Enter Your Concert and Festival Data
- Use the empty template to enter each concert or festival appearance on its own row.
- Ensure the date is entered in the required format shown in the template.
- Type the artist name normally.
- In the venue/festival column, enter the name of the venue or festival where you saw the artist.
- For example, if you were at Primavera Sound, enter “Primavera Sound” as the venue/festival.

- For a festival like Primavera Sound, list every artist you saw at that festival on a separate line, each with the same festival name.

- For artists you saw at a festival, set the Show Type column to
festival.

- If it was a regular concert (not a festival), set the Show Type column to
headliner.

- In the city column, enter the city where you saw the band perform.

- Continue adding all your shows until your spreadsheet is complete.

Step 3: Track Openers (Optional)
If you want to track opening acts for a show:
- Create a second row for each opener you want to track.
- Set the date and venue/festival to be the same as the headliner’s row.
- In the Show Type column, mark one of the rows as
opener (for the opening act) and the main act appropriately (e.g., headliner).

Step 4: Export and Upload Your CSV to Concert Receipt
- Once you’ve finished entering all concerts and openers, download/export the file as a CSV from your spreadsheet tool.
- Return to the Concert Receipt website.
- Click the option to open/upload your CSV file.

After upload, Concert Receipt will display your list of concerts, which you can review and edit directly from this interface.

Step 5: Enter Final Details and Generate Your Receipt
- Navigate to Final details within Concert Receipt.
- Enter your first name when prompted.
- Concert Receipt will ask how many sets you saw in 2024.
- Note: This refers to last year, not the current year.
- If you’re not sure, you can leave this field blank.
- Click Generate receipt to create your Concert Receipt.

- When the receipt is generated, click to view your receipt.

You’ll be taken through a visual summary of your year in music.
Step 6: Customize the Design and Add Images
- At the end of the walkthrough, you can customize and download your Concert Receipt.
- Change the theme to adjust the visual style.

- Add images to personalize your design:

- Choose or upload any image you like (for example, photos from shows or album art).

- The selected image will be automatically added to your Concert Receipt layout.

Step 7: Download and Share Your Concert Receipt
- You can download each file individually (for different formats or layouts), or click Download all to get every version at once.
- Once downloaded, your Concert Receipt files are ready to share on social media or with friends.
