This process outlines the steps to create subcategories within your collections using metafields. Metafields allow you to customize your collections by adding additional data fields. By following these instructions, you will be able to define collection subcategories and display them effectively.
Begin by accessing the Settings page, where we'll initiate the process of creating collection subcategories using metafields.

Navigate to the Metafields and Metaobjects section. Within this area, proceed to Collections Metafields and create a new definition. Name this definition according to your specific needs.

Choose the List of Values as the type, ensuring the reference type is set to Collection. Save your changes once you've made your selections. The newly created metafield will be visible after saving.

Head over to the Collections page. Select the collection for which you want to create a subcategory. Add a suitable image to this collection and refer to the Collection Metafields you have previously created.

Identify the collection metafield you set up earlier in the list. Here, you can add the desired collections. Remember to save your changes after adding the necessary collections.

Once saved, proceed to the Mobile App Builder. In the Mobile App Builder, navigate to the Product List page. Here, you'll have the option to add a block called Subcategory Images, which can be accessed via Metafields.

Include this block, and add the metafield you have established. You can also over-ride the sub-collection thumbnail & right by switching on the toggle.
You can preview the changes to see the subcategories you have incorporated.

Finally, once you are satisfied with the setup, publish the changes to make them live.
