Configuring Birthday Rewards

Introduction

Birthday rewards are a delightful way to make customers feel appreciated and celebrated. 🌟 With Nector’s Birthday Rewards feature, you can automatically issue bonus points around a customer’s birthday — helping increase loyalty, repeat purchases, and overall engagement.

This guide walks you through setting up birthday earning rules, configuring timing, and previewing how customers will see their rewards on the storefront. By the end, your birthday reward system will be fully active and ready to boost the customer experience.

Step 1 - Navigate to Features

Go to the Features section from the left sidebar. Select Advanced Rewards to begin configuring your birthday program.

Step 2 - Locate the Birthday Program

Inside Advanced Rewards, find and select Birthday Program.

Step 3 - Enable the Program

Click Configure, then toggle the Birthday Program ON to activate it.

Step 4 - Start Setting Up Earning Rules

After enabling the program, proceed to configure the earning rules for birthday rewards.

Step 5 - Choose the Reward Amount

Open the Earning Rules section and specify how many points customers should receive on their birthday.

Step 6 - Default Birthday Reward

The system defaults to 250 coins for the birthday reward. We’ll proceed with this amount for now.

Step 7 - Customize Display Settings

You can add:

• A reward description
• Visibility in the Ways to Earn section
• Title, and description displayed to customers
• The position of the reward inside the widget and rewards page💡 Tip: A clear, cheerful description increases participation.

Step 8 - Add Coin Amount in Description

Include the coin amount and coin name in the reward description. Once done, proceed to the Advanced Setting section.

Step 9 - Set Reward Frequency

In Advanced Setting, choose the recurring frequency. Birthday rewards should typically be issued once per year.

After configuring the frequency, return to the previous earning rules page.

Step 10 - Choose Reward Timing

You can issue rewards:

• On the customer’s birthday
• 1 day before
• 3 days before
• 7 days before

We recommend issuing the reward one day before the birthday.

Step 11 - Preview the Customer View

Now, let’s see how the birthday setup appears to customers on the storefront. When customers visit your website, they’ll see the Birthday Reward displayed inside the widget.

Step 12 - Customer Interaction with the Reward

Inside Ways to Earn, the customer will:

1. Click on the Birthday Reward
2. Enter their birth date
3. Save the date
4. Instantly receive points in their wallet

They can also add their birthday through the Rewards Page.

Step 13 - Birthday Validation Note

There is no extensive date validation, except:

• Future dates are not allowed
