Configuring Filters with Zuora

In this document, you will learn how to configure and apply product filters and quick filters within the Zuora CPQX platform. These filters help refine and categorize products based on different criteria, utilizing both standard and custom fields. Product filters focus on the product and product rate plan objects, while quick filters offer more flexibility, allowing for complex logic and combinations.

Step 1

Zuora CPQX allows users to easily configure two types of filters: product filters and quick filters. Product filters enable filtering based on both standard and custom fields from the product, product rate plan, and product rate plan charge objects. Quick filters are more versatile and allow filtering products based on a variety of field combinations.

Step 2

To identify where these filters are applied, navigate to the quote page in Zuora. Upon clicking "Browse Products," the left panel displays a section labeled "Filters," containing both quick filters and product filters.

Step 11

Click "Save" to confirm your configuration.

Step 12

To define a quick filter, note that quick filters are more flexible than product filters.

Step 13

Quick filters can utilize both standard and custom fields from product-related objects. They allow complex logic with multiple conditions. Begin by creating a quick filter for summer release software products.

Screenshot

Step 14

To create a new quick filter, click "Create New Quick Filter." Enter the filter name, such as "Software Products."

Screenshot

Step 15

Add a description, set the status to active, and ensure it is visible to users.

Screenshot

Step 16

The toggle labeled "Forced" applies the quick filter automatically when a browser or search window opens. Multiple filters can be forced simultaneously.

Screenshot

Step 17

The "Forced" toggle works with the "Visible to User" toggle. If both are active, users see but cannot disable the filter. If only "Forced" is active, the filter applies in the background without visibility.

Screenshot

Step 18

For this filter, leave the "Forced" toggle inactive. Activate the "Specific Profile" toggle to assign the quick filter to certain profiles.

Screenshot

Step 19

By default, quick filters are visible to all profiles. When active, select a specific profile from the list.

Screenshot

Step 20

Set the "Specific Profile" toggle to inactive, making it visible to all profiles. Define the filter conditions in the "Filter Logic" section.

Step 21

Click the magnifying glass to open a list of objects. Select the "Product Rate Plan" object, then scroll to choose the custom field "ZPRP Item Type."

Screenshot

Step 22

Set the operator to "Equals" and enter the value "Software." You can equate it with a field or a value. Here, select "Value" and input "Software."

Screenshot

Step 23

To add conditions, click the three dots on the right and select "Add Condition to the Group." This adds a new condition with an "AND" operator. Remove unnecessary conditions.

Screenshot

Step 24

Instead of adding a condition, create a new group by clicking "Add a New Group." This introduces an "OR" operator.

Screenshot

Step 25

Remove groups not needed for your filter. Extend the software offer filter to display only software products from the summer catalog by enabling the nested filter.

Screenshot

Step 26

Activate the toggle labeled "Display all nested filters collapsed by default." This collapses filters on the "Browse Catalog" page. In the "Quick Filter Hierarchy," click the plus button to add a new child filter.

Screenshot

Step 27

Name the new child filter appropriately.

Screenshot

Step 28

Set the child filter to active. In "Filter Logic," select the "Product Object" and choose the "ZPC Code" object. Set it to equal a value.

Screenshot

Step 29

With the filter defined, click "Save."

Screenshot

Step 30

View the filter in action. On the quote page, click "Browse" and then "Filter."

Screenshot

Step 31
